Medical Writer

Opportunity for remote home working

We are looking for an individual who will be able to provide high quality written materials, manuscripts, abstracts, regulatory materials, reviews, meeting reports and educational/scientific/promotional materials for our clients within the healthcare industry.

  • Educated to degree level in life sciences. PhD preferred but not essential
  • A sound understanding of scientific principles is required Must be able to write concisely and clearly, with attention to detail
  • Spoken communication skills must be extremely high
  • Good interpersonal skills with clients is necessary
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to self manage are a must
  • The ability to quickly understand and familiarise yourself with new therapeutic areas is important
  • Experience in endocrine, cardiovascular and oncology areas would be an advantage although not crucial
  • The ability to adhere to timelines is essential
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to search Database’s is necessary
  • At least 2-3 years relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare or medical communications area is desirable
  • A flexible attitude towards projects is key

Full or Part Time (3 days/week) Account Manager

Influence Medical Communication is a boutique and independent medical communications consultancy that prides itself on its ability to harmonise science and marketing and thereby deliver unique programmes for clients.

We are looking for an Account Manager with a life-science degree and a minimum of 2-years of experience within a healthcare medical education or communications agency. If you have experience of working in endocrinology, cardiovascular or female health this would be an advantage. Excellent interpersonal and project management skills are a must as well as flair and commitment.

The position is to effectively manage a variety of high quality scientific communications programmes, ensuring the efficient and timely implementation of projects. The main aspects of this position are the on-going management of client accounts and ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest quality; manage and maintain client relationships and act as the day-to-day contact; liaison with opinion leaders; writing medical education and PR materials; research for clients and new business pitches; using scientific and commercial acumen to develop proposals for prospective and existing clients; identification of opportunities to grow existing business; setting up and managing client meetings and internal updates; preparing meeting contact reports and budget administration; international and domestic travel for attendance at conferences, scientific symposia, and advisory boards.
